LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – On Friday night a 20-year-old man was charged with killing a Jefferson County middle school teacher earlier on Friday.
It happened in the same home the teacher ran as a foster home for troubled youth in Jeffersontown.
Police said around 11 a.m., Ronshai Jenefor beat and stabbed to death a man at his home on Thelma Lane. Jeffersontown investigators found Jenefor walking in the rain, not far from the scene, two hours after the body of the Carrithers Middle School teacher was discovered in the home. Police said Jenefor confessed to the killing and had lived there.
The coroner has not yet released the identity of the victim but police said he is currently on the staff as a teacher at Carrithers Middle School on Billtown Lane.
Major Kenneth Hatmaker said the victim was well liked even though police knew the foster home well.
Police said they are unsure of a motive right now.
Jenefor did leave the scene in the victim's car but when police arrested him he was no longer in it.
