LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man who led police on a chase while driving a tractor was sentenced again this week on felony charges.
According to court documents, 34-year-old Aaron Kidwell led Louisville Metro Police on a chase while driving a large Kubota tractor through a residential neighborhood on Feb. 19, 2024.
When police arrested Kidwell, they found he was in possession of three handguns, one of which was fitted with a Glock Switch device. These devices allow a semi-automatic handgun to function as an automatic weapon, and is defined as a machine gun under federal law, officials said Tuesday.
Kidwell was sentenced to seven years and two months in prison for possession of a firearm and ammunition as someone with prior felony convictions and illegal possession of a machine gun.
Authorities said he has previously been convicted of criminal trespassing, dealing in marijuana, strangulation and identity deception in four cases in southern Indiana between 2004 and 2018.
Kidwell will not be eligible for parole in the federal system, officials added.
“I commend the work of ATF and LMPD in this case,” U.S. Attorney Michael Bennett said. “The combined partnership of federal and state law enforcement in the Louisville Metro area continues to pay dividends as we continue to remove the most violent individuals from the streets and send them to federal prison.”
