Lela Black's mother, Kelly Black, was found shot at a Princeton residence over the weekend.

PRINCETON, Ky. — A statewide Amber Alert has been canceled for a missing 5-year-old girl from Princeton, Kentucky after her mother was found shot and killed.

UPDATE: Lela Black, 5, has been found safe as of Monday afternoon. Her father, 42-year-old Byron Black, has been taken into custody, according to Kentucky State Police.

On Sunday, police discovered the body of Byron's wife, Kelly Black following a welfare check at a Princeton residence. Authorities said Kelly had been shot in the back of the head and determined she had been murdered.
