LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Weeks after a 4-year-old child died from a gunshot wound at the hospital, authorities have made an arrest.
Louisville Metro Police arrested 26-year-old Zacari Amacher on Friday. He's been charged with reckless homicide in connection with the shooting on Jan. 13.
Investigators said they presented the case to the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office and charges were recommended.
Police said the 4-year-old was shot at a home on South 37th Street in the Chickasaw neighborhood.
First responders set up a route to the hospital, but he later died according to authorities.
The coroner's office later identified the child as Zacarion Depp.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear.
Amacher is expected to be in court Saturday morning.
