LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A bicyclist is dead after he was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Thursday morning on National Turnpike.
At about 3:15 a.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a vehicle collision involving a bicyclist in the 5500 block of National Turnpike, according to an LMPD news release.
Investigators believe a man was riding his bicycle on National Turnpike when he was struck by an unknown vehicle in the southbound lanes of the roadway.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead on the scene, LMPD said. The hit-and-run driver fled the scene with their vehicle.
