Louisville man found guilty of killing woman, shooting child in 2022

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man was found guilty of multiple felony charges, including the murder of the mother of his child earlier this week. 

Police arrested Christopher Gordon after the deadly shooting in February 2022. 

During their investigation, authorities found Gordon had shot Angelica James and her 10-year-old son. He then kidnapped their 2-year-old child and ran away.

James died from her injuries, but her 10-year-old son survived from being shot in the hand.

The 2-year-old was later found safe with family and Gordon was arrested the same day.

He was found guilty of murder, assault, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. The jury also found Gordon to be a persistent felony offender.

Gordon will be back in court for his sentencing on August 5.
