Coroner ID’s 16 year old fatally shot in Klondike neighborhood

Louisville Metro Police was called to the Guiding Light Islamic Center late Sunday night on reports of a shooting.

Days after a shooting happened outside of the Guiding Light Islamic Center, we’re learning the name of one of the victims.

At about 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, Louisville Metro Police was called to the center’s parking lot on reports of a shooting according to authorities.

When officers arrived, they found two teenagers who had been shot, investigators said. Both were taken to the hospital; one died at the hospital, and the other is in critical condition.

The coroner’s office identified the teenager as 16-year-old Ali Almasri Wednesday evening.

Shortly after the teenagers arrived at the hospital, LMPD said they found a third teenager in St. Matthews suffering from a gunshot wound. First responders also took him to the hospital, and he is expected to survive.
