LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A shooting in the Iroquois neighborhood has left one man dead and another injured.
Just before 9 p.m. Saturday, police said officers responded to a business in the 4400 block of Taylor Boulevard.
Officers found the two men inside suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Police gave first aid to the victims while waiting for EMS to arrive.
They were both taken to UofL Hospital for treatment. Dion Smith, 21, died shortly after arriving while the other appears to have non-life threatening injuries.
LMPD's Homicide Unit arrested and charged 18-year-old Gage Lewis with one count of murder.
Court records showed he admitted to the shooting and surveillance video confirming it.
During his Monday arraignment, the judge called Lewis a "danger to society" and set his bond at $200,000.
Lewis is currently being held at Metro Corrections.
