LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Indiana woman who is accused of killing her step-father in 2022 poisoned him twice before he died according to documents.
Ashley Jones and her mother, Marsha Allen, are accused of killing Harold Allen by putting ethylene glycol in his drink.
Now, new documents said they purchased "pong pong seeds" in September 2022.
In November, they allegedly exchanged texts about making brownies for Harold with the poison.
After consuming the brownies, investigators said Harold became very sick and made multiple trips to the emergency room.
Then on Dec. 1, Jones is accused of purchasing "water Hemlock" off the internet.
The documents show text messages between the two that seem to indicate Harold consumed foods contaminated with poison on three separate days.
Detectives said on Dec. 13, ethylene glycol was purchased and that was used to kill him days later.
Marsha has since died, but Jones is charged with charged with murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and consumer product tampering resulting in serious bodily injury.
The investigation began after Jones' mother reported her home on North State Road 135 had been burglarized on Sept. 19. Steven White and Nathaniel Kane Napier were arrested for the burglary.
