LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- After watching police pull drugs, guns and cash out of their neighbor's home, people around 5600 West Pages Lane feel all their suspicions about drug activity in that house have been confirmed.
"All morning, early morning, all day, all night it's nine cars over there, at least," Elmira Baldon, a neighbor, said.
LMPD said Thursday night's bust is proof officers are listening to the concerns of residents, even when it appears officers are not following up on tips right away.
"You don't want to rush in you want to do it right, that's what these guys did," Officer Todd Boyd, a LMPD third division resource officer, said.
Even after police rounded up the people they found in that house, many residents didn't feel comfortable talking to WHAS11 camera, but said that doesn't mean they'll hesitate to protect their neighborhood.
"We're think about getting up a block watch system going," Floyd Garr, a neighbor, said
Boyd helps coordinate what we're told is the largest network of block watches in any LMPD division. Across Iroquois Park, Valley Station, Fairdale and PRP there are 134 active in total. And he welcomes another.
"They got the equipment, they got the capability and they got our help, cuz we sho gonna tell it all," Baldon said.
LMPD said if you're interested in setting up a block watch, simply find a group of committed neighbors. For more information, you can call 574-74-27.
