LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department said they charged a man on June 14 after a woman was hit and killed on June 7.
The deadly hit and run happened on Dixie at Ratcliffe Avenue, not far from Algonquin Parkway, around 9:30 Friday night. Police said a 59-year-old woman was hit when she tried to cross the road.
LMPD said the driver of a Jeep Wrangler, Anthony Grundy, did not stop.
Grundy is charged with leaving the scene of an accident/failing to render aid/assist with death or serious physical injury, no operators-moped license, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, and no registration plates.
Grundy turned himself into the custody of the police, according to the police report.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the nba.com website, Grundy played basketball for North Carolina State and went to Warren Central High School in Bowling Green Ky. He then played professionally in several countries and played briefly with the Atlanta Hawks in the 2005-06 season.
