Aaron Combs, pictured with his mother, Laura, was found shot to death inside his home on W. Hill Street along with his finance, Julie Clemons.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Police have yet to make an arrest in Saturday's double-homicide in West Louisville and Monday family and friends of Aaron Combs, 30, and Julie Clemons, 28, made an emotional plea asking anyone with information on the murders to step forward.

Laura Combs said her son and Clemons were together for the last six years and were in the midst of planning their wedding.

She admits, they'd had some ups and downs, with Combs more recently overcoming a battle with substance abuse, leaving his past in Clarksville and moving back home to Louisville.

The couple shared a home with another roommate and it's unknown who was at the house when the couple was murdered. A neighbor called police around 4:30 a.m. after hearing gunshots.

Comb's family said they found out what had happened when a group of his friends met his mother on her doorstep.

"They were very selfless people. They didn't care about themselves. It was about everybody else. Those are memories we all share," Katia Hurst, a family friend, said.

"Whoever killed my son and his fiancé, do the right thing and turn yourself in. He didn't deserve to die. He did nothing to nobody. He tried to live a better life and I just want everybody to know he's a good person. If anybody knows anything, please tell and help me find who killed my son," Laura Combs, Aaron's mother, said.

Combs leaves behind a sister and brother. Clemons was an only child. Her parents are asking for privacy during this time.
