Coroner identifies man killed in hit-and-run near Louisville airport

Officers were called to the intersection of Gilmore Lane and Preston Highway around 11 p.m. police said.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened late Wednesday night.

Officers were called to the intersection of Gilmore Lane and Preston Highway around 11 p.m. police said.

That's near the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport and UPS Worldport.

Investigators believe Justin Cooper, 34, was hit on Gilmore Lane by a silver or gray jeep.

Cooper died at the scene according to authorities.

Police added the driver and vehicle fled the scene.
