Felony charges dismissed against driver accused of causing semi crash on Louisville bridge

Trevor Branham was charged with four counts of wanton endangerment, which is a felony charge. He's also been charged with driving with a suspended license.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The felony charges for the man who allegedly caused the crash on the George Rogers Clark Memorial Bridge in March were dismissed on Monday.

Trevor Branham was charged with four counts of wanton endangerment, which is a felony charge. He's also been charged with driving with a suspended license.

Erran Huber, the spokesperson for the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney, said the Jefferson County Grand Jury returned a "no true bill" for the wanton endangerment charges, meaning he was not indicted.

According to his arrest citation, he was speeding on the bridge, otherwise known as the Second Street Bridge, and weaving in and out of traffic. He then hit a stalled car and the semi.

That semi hung over the side of the bridge for about 45 minutes. During that time, a Louisville Fire firefighter rescued the driver in the cab.

Now, his only charge is a misdemeanor so it heads back to district court.
