INDIANA, USA — A southern Indiana police officer has been charged with child pornography.
Indiana State Police said former North Vernon Police Officer Jaydan Vanosdol, 22, is facing one count – a felony.
The charge stems from a two-month investigation by detectives from ISP.
The investigation into Vanosdol began in August after allegations were made against him for inappropriate conduct.
According to ISP, Vanosdol was talking with juvenile female through a social media app a month earlier. Police said their communications led to them swapping nude photos through the app to each other.
The case was sent to the Jennings County Prosecutor which resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for Vanosdol.
Vanosdol was suspended from the North Vernon Police Department when the investigation began and was terminated prior to his arrest.
He was arrested Tuesday and currently booked at the Jennings County Jail.
