HENDERSON, Ky. (WHAS11) — A man in Henderson, KY is in custody after allegedly sexually abusing a child under 12 years old and resisting arrest.
According to a press release by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, Austin T. Cates, 20, was arrested at his home on December 14. He has been charged with sodomy and sexual abuse of a victim under 12 years old.
The charges stem from an investigation into Cates allegedly sexually abusing the child more than once in the summer and fall of 2018.
Cates was also charged with resisting arrest and terroristic threatening for attempting to escape and threatening the arresting officer.
He is scheduled to appear in court on December 18.
