LMPD: Man in critical condition after being struck by two vehicles on I-65

First responders were called to the scene and transported the man to the hospital with critical and life-threatening injuries.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is in critical condition after being struck by two vehicles on I-65 Saturday night.

Louisville Metro Police Department responded to reports of a man in the roadway on I-65 SB at mile marker 130 around 9:40 p.m. Saturday.

Police say based on the preliminary investigation and witnesses' statements that the man was on the road for an unknown reason before he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on I-65. This caused the man to fall and enter into another lane. The car stayed at the scene.

A second vehicle was traveling southbound on I-65 and attempted to avoid the victim but also struck him. The second vehicle stopped as well.

First responders were called to the scene and transported the man to the hospital with critical and life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say the drivers of the two cars were not injured and both cooperated with the on-scene investigation. They are not expected to be charged.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
