Inmate assaulted at Kentucky State Penitentiary

An assault at the Kentucky State Penitentiary, located in Eddyville, is under investigation, according to a news release from the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
Michael Brown, 22, was on the prison yard when he was stabbed by Terry King multiple times at the Kentucky State Penitentiary.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (NEWS RELEASE) – An assault at the Kentucky State Penitentiary, located in Eddyville, is under investigation, according to a news release from the Kentucky Department of Corrections.

An inmate, 22-year-old Michael Brown, was stabbed by another inmate late Tuesday.

Brown was on the prison yard when he was stabbed by Terry King multiple times, according to the news release. Brown was given immediate medical attention at the prison and then transported to Baptist Hospital. King was placed in segregation at the prison.
Brown is serving a five-year sentence for Sexual Abuse, 1st Degree out of Meade County.

King, 36, is serving a 40-year sentence out of Daviess County for Sodomy 1st Degree, Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, and other charges.

The assault is under investigation by the Kentucky State Police and criminal charges are pending the outcome of that investigation.

Administrative charges will also be filed as a result of the incident.
