LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police and the Hardin County Detention Center are searching for an inmate who escaped a facility Tuesday morning.
Authorities are asking the public to help locate Tony R. Stephens, 37. He is described by police as a white male, 5-foot-9, 160 pounds, and is bald with blue eyes.
According to a KSP news release, Stephens escaped from the Hardin County Detention Center's substance abuse program annex about 8:30 a.m. He was being held on drug possession charges.
His last known address was in Fordsville, but authorities believe he may be headed to the Covington area in northern Kentucky.
The public is asked not to approach Stephens if located. Anyone with information is asked to call KSP at 270-766-5078 or dial 911.
