(WHAS 11)--On April 9 at 11:01pm , Clarksville Police received a call of shots fired at the America's Best Value Inn Motel located at 342 Eastern Blvd.
Clarksville Officers along County Sheriff's Officer's, Indiana State Police and Jeffersonville Police Department responded to the location.
Upon arrival officer's located a male subject with a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen area, victim was transported to U of L ER for treatment.
Several witnesses in the area gave a detail description of the suspect and the direction in which he fled.
The suspect was hiding in a 2nd level motel room with a female subject; a detective on the scene was able to make phone contact with the suspect who after a brief conversation did give himself up without incident.
Suspect at the scene was identified as Corey Lee Daffron of New Albany; the suspect had outstanding warrants for unrelated crimes and was charged with Attempted Murder for the shooting of the victim at the America's Best Value Inn.
The suspect was transported to Clark County Jail for incarceration.
