LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police are searching for a suspect they said shot and killed a man in Jeffersonville.
According to Jeffersonville Police, the shooting happened Thursday around 10:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Kopp Avenue.
Police said the 34-year-old victim called Clark County 911 to report he had been shot. JPD arrived on the scene and found the man with a gunshot wound.
Officers gave the victim aid until he was able to be transported to UofL Hospital.
On Friday, police were notified the victim had died from his injuries and the case was escalated to a homicide.
During their investigation, police learned the shooter was 19-year-old Anthony White and searched his apartment at the Greenwood Apartment Complex.
Police said they used SWAT and additional resources to locate White, but he was not home. That’s when they communicated with him through his family and arranged for White to meet with detectives.
White didn’t show up for the appointment and a warrant was issued through the Clark County Prosecutor's Office charging him with murder.
Police believe White has connections in Jeffersonville and in Louisville.
