Judge grants Burdette's defense more time to present case

The defense told the judge they are looking through more evidence in the case against Roger Burdette and need more time to present their case.

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) --  The man accused of hitting and killing an LMPD officer appeared in court on Tuesday morning. 

The defense told the judge they are looking through more evidence in the case against Roger Burdette and will need until the end of July to present their case.

Burdette is the former MSD driver who crashed into Detective Deidre Mengadoht's cruiser on Christmas Eve.

Another pre-trial conference has been scheduled for July 30.
