Minor charged with 'terroristic threatening' after threat made to Kentucky high school students

The FBI reached out to Elizabethtown PD Wednesday after a threat was made to a nearby high school.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — A minor was charged Wednesday after police said they made a threat toward students attending Central Hardin High School in Kentucky.

At about 10:30 p.m., the FBI's Threat Assessment Center reached out to the Elizabethtown Police Department about a threat that had been made toward students of a nearby high school, according to an EPD news release.

Within five minutes of receiving the report, officers found the suspect. They were charged with second degree terroristic threatening and is currently lodged in a juvenile detention facility.

"At no time was the safety of any students or staff compromised," Elizabethtown Police said.
