Stolen vehicle pursuit in Shelby County ends in crash, juvenile arrested

The car has been impounded and the Frankfort Police Department is investigating.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The driver of a stolen car from Frankfort, Kentucky, led law enforcement on a car pursuit ending in a crash in Shelby County early Saturday morning. 

According to the Shelbyville Police Department, a stolen car was traveling at a high rate of speed Westbound on Frankfort Road when Frankfort officers lost sight of the car due to it traveling over 100 mph.

About 2 a.m., the stolen car was seen passing the Clay Village area where it then crashed into the median across from Cola Commons. The occupants exited the vehicle according to the news release. 

Officials say a male juvenile involved in the incident was arrested near the scene around 3:40 a.m.

No other arrests have been made at the time.

Simpsonville Police Department and Shelby County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Shelbyville Police Department in this incident.

The car has been impounded and the Frankfort Police Department is investigating.
