LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The trial of a man accused of killing two people inside a Roosters restaurant in 2021 ended in a mistrial just hours after it began.
Karson Reitz is charged with two counts of murder and four counts of wanton endangerment for the shooting on Dec. 23, 2021.
Prosecutors said surveillance video shows Reitz shoot Mike Miller and Bradley Cross inside the Preston Highway restaurant, causing panic in the crowded restaurant that night.
Opening statements in the trial started at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, but WHAS11 News learned around 4:45 p.m. the judge had declared a mistrial.
The Commonwealth's Attorney's Office said they plan to release more details later.
