2 Louisville men charged in Lowe’s theft ring appear in court, 1 released from jail

Aubrey and William Walker are accused of stealing more than $300,000 worth of merchandise.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two men charged with stealing more than $300,000 worth of merchandise from Lowes stores across the region appeared in court on Monday.

Jeffersontown Police arrested Aubrey Walker and William Walker in mid-November in connection to the scheme.

On Monday, a judge allowed Aubrey Walker to be released from jail after posting 10%, or $50,000, of his $250,000 bond. As part of his release, Walker is required to make all court dates, have no contact with any Lowes stores or employees, and have no new arrests or law violations.

The judge pushed William Walker’s preliminary hearing back to Jan. 24 since he was unable to be in court on Monday. Although Walker has also posted 10% of his $250,000 bond, he remains in jail until his next court appearance.

Once he is released, the terms of his release will be like Aubrey Walker’s.

Authorities said the two men, with the help of others, would hit stores in Louisville, Frankfort, Lexington, Owensboro and Evansville, Indiana.

The suspects would take items to the customer service desk and fraudulently charge them to business accounts from companies they didn’t work for.

Both men are charged with engaging in organized crime and theft by deception, including cold checks $10,000 or more.

Authorities are still searching for three other men for their alleged connection to the theft ring.
