LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville-area teacher was arrested at school Tuesday after police say she showed up drunk.

According to Elizabethtown police, staff at TK Stone Middle School observed Tamara Mouser on campus and believed she was intoxicated. The school resource officer assigned to the building was notified and made contact with Mouser.

The officer "quickly confirmed" the staff members' suspicions.

Mouser was arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place. She was booked into the Hardin County Detention Center.

According to a Facebook post from Elizabethtown Independent Schools, Mouser resigned effective immediately.

A LinkedIn account for the woman lists her as a teacher in the district.

Police said she was not directly responsible for the care of any students Tuesday between her arrival and time of arrest.
