LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville police are searching for two men accused of neglecting several dogs in "one of the worst" animal abuse cases the department has ever seen.
On Friday, Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) said it needs the public's help in locating John Amato and William Grieshaber. Both men have warrants for second-degree animal cruelty.

Last summer, Louisville Metro Animal Services received a complaint about multiple dogs being mistreated in the 4400 block of Possibility Way. The home is located near the Jefferson/Oldham County border.
According to police, it's believed the two men had moved out of the home and left eight severely neglected dogs behind.
When officers arrived, a department spokesperson said the "distinct odor of feces and urine was so powerful, we could smell it from the street." Inside the home, they found all eight dogs covered in feces.
"Every dog was neglected to the point where they started eating the drywall inside the home," LMPD said.
Thankfully, LMPD said seven of the eight dogs have since been adopted and are in loving homes.
In the meantime, LMPD's Animal Cruelty Unit is assisting LMAS with arresting both Amato and Grieshaber.
If you have any information regarding their whereabouts, you are urged to contact LMPD's anonymous tip line at (502)-574-LMPD (5673). Reports can also be made online.
