Louisville Metro Police has arrested a suspect in the fatal hit-and-run that happened on Lexington Road on Thursday, Jan. 18.
Authorities arrested 23-year-old Criss Dzaringa around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
According to authorities, officers were called to Lexington Road at Payne Street on reports of a person hit by a car.
That's in the Irish Hill neighborhood.
When officers arrived, police said they found a man in the road who had been hit by a car. He later died at the hospital.
The coroner's office identified as 32-year-old Michael Allen.
The citation says Allen was running across the street against the crosswalk, and Dzaringa had a green light.
In court on Thursday, he plead not guilty and his bond was set at $50,000.
He posted 10% of that bond, $5,000, that same day.
After his arrest, investigators said Dzaringa told them he thought he hit a brown ball.
He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid, no registration plates, failure to maintain insurance and operating on a suspended or revoked license.
Dzaringa will be appear in front of a Grand Jury the week of March 4.
