LMPD: Body found in Ohio River in downtown Louisville

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department found a body floating in the Ohio River near downtown Louisville Thursday evening. 

Authorities said police received a call shortly after 7:00 p.m. of what appeared to be a human body floating in the Ohio River near 9th Street and the I-64 portion of the river. 

Both LMPD's River Unit and Louisville Fire and Rescue responded to the scene around 8 p.m. and pulled the body from the river near 10th St and Rowan St according to investigators. 

Officials said they were unable to determine the identity of the person at this time.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.
