LMPD investigating bomb threat made to a TARC bus

The LMPD Bomb Squad determined the threats were false and no actual bomb was found.
Without cuts, TARC said the budget gap could be as much as $30 million by 2026.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating after a false bomb threat was made to a TARC bus Thursday morning.

Shortly before 10 a.m., LMPD officers responded to TARC Headquarters in the 1000 block of West Broadway on report of a bomb threat made to a bus that was already out on service runs, according to an LMPD news release.

Bus #25 with the Oak-Westport Connection bus route was quickly found by law enforcement and passengers were evacuated and provided alternate transportation.

LMPD First Division, Bomb Squad and K9, TARC Security and St. Matthews Police were all called to the scene. Investigators determined the threats were false and no bomb was found. The all-clear was given and TARC services continued.
