LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Metro Police say one of their own is facing criminal charges following an investigation.

Officials with the department say their Public Integrity Unit has been investigating a case where Detective Dustin Henke allegedly solicited prostitution on multiple occasions over a five-month period.

Through a vague post on the official Louisville Metro Police Facebook page, officials say they submitted a criminal complaint and a judge issued a criminal summons against Detective Henke for solicitation of prostitution and official misconduct.

Court documents claim he also gave a prostitute another detective's department number and told her not to answer it to avoid an arrest.

Detective Henke was served with a summons, placed on reassignment and has been stripped of his police powers pending the outcome.

He received a commendation award earlier this year for remarkable teamwork throughout the month of January in helping disrupt narcotic trafficking networks throughout the city.

Detective Henke also received recognition earning the Distinguished Lifesaving Award in 2011.

No further information on this case was given.
