LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) are investigating after a man was found dead in the Russell neighborhood on Sunday.
Authorities said the victim, later identified as 34-year-old Mitchell Jackson, Jr., was found in the roadway on 18th Street and West Muhammad Ali Boulevard around 9 a.m.
Initially, police reported Jackson had no obvious signs of injuries. LMPD later confirmed he died from multiple gunshot wounds. The department also confirmed duct tape was found on the body.

On Monday, LMPD announced the department's Homicide Unit would lead the investigation.
According to police, detectives believe Jackson was killed somewhere else.
