LMPD investigating after man shows up to UofL Hospital with gunshot wounds

During the course of the investigation, authorities discovered that the shooting happened in the Newburg neighborhood.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police are investigating after a man showed up to University of Louisville (UofL) Hospital by "private means" with gunshot wounds Saturday night.

Shortly after 10:00 p.m., Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) arrived at the hospital and were advised that the man was alert and conscious and being treated by medical professionals, according to an LMPD news release. Officials expect him to survive.

During the course of the investigation, authorities discovered that the shooting happened in the 5300 block of E. Indian Trail. This is in the Newburg neighborhood. LMPD’s Sixth Division was dispatched to that location and found a scene.

The LMPD Non-Fatal Shooting Units is investigating. There are currently no known suspects.
