LMPD searches for man caught on camera throwing puppy in the air, injuring it

Authorities said the disturbing video was captured in an alleyway in the 1500 block of Berry Boulevard.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) needs the public's help in locating a man seen throwing a puppy in the air and injuring it.

In a social media post, authorities said disturbing video of the incident was captured on August 6 in a rear alley of the 1500 block of Berry Boulevard.

"Surveillance footage captures a man throwing a puppy in to the air by its scruff," the department wrote. "The puppy lands on the concrete and is obviously injured. The man leaves the scene."

A short while later, another person is seen taking the injured dog and appears to care for it.

Man wanted after being caught on camera throwing a small puppy in the air and injuring it, LMPD said.

Anyone with any information regarding the man's identity is urged to contact LMPD by calling the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673). Reports can also be made anonymously online by clicking here.

Police are also interested in finding the person who is later seen in the video to check on the status of the injured dog.
