LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after a shooting in the Taylor Berry neighborhood on Wednesday.
Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3400 block of Taylor Boulevard around 5 p.m. When police arrived, investigators said they found a man who had been shot.
First responders transported the victim to the hospital where he later died, police said.
The man's identity has not been released at this time.
On Thursday, LMPD said 21-year-old Raymond Holmes was charged with murder and receiving stolen property.
According to the arrest citation, detectives reviewed the video footage from a neighboring business that showed the victim trying to run from the area. Authorities said Holmes was seen on the same video chasing the victim and shooting him as he was trying to run away.
Detectives searched Holmes' vehicle and found a handgun inside the vehicle. The gun was reported stolen through LMPD on May 10, 2023.
