LMPD shared the moments that led up to a shooting of a man accused of trying to carjack a woman while she was in the store's pharmacy drive-thru.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — WARNING: The videos in this story contain body cam footage some people may find graphic in nature. Viewer discretion is advised.

Louisville Metro police released body camera video Tuesday nearly two weeks after an officer shot an armed suspect outside of a Walmart near Fairdale.

Police said the incident involving 37-year-old Randall Allen began as a vehicle pursuit ending in a crash at the intersection of Outer Loop and New Cut Road on Aug. 28. Police were trying to stop the vehicle because the driver had expired registration and a suspended license.

Allen, a passenger in the vehicle, jumped out and ran into a Walmart Supercenter armed with two pistols.

Officer Brandon Brinkley and another LMPD officer located Allen inside the store. Allen then ran outside and approached a woman inside her vehicle in the pharmacy’s drive thru.

Police said Allen jumped into the woman’s passenger seat and “attempted to carjack and possibly kidnap” her.

The video shows Brinkley giving Allen multiple commands before firing his gun through the windshield and shooting him multiple times. Video shows one gun being removed from the suspect's pants, and he stated there was a second gun inside the van.

Allen was treated at the hospital and is facing resisting arrest, unlawful imprisonment and wanton endangerment, among other charges.
