LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) has arrested a suspect following a SWAT standoff near the Shawnee neighborhood Friday afternoon.
A department spokesperson said Second Division officers responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Lindell Avenue around 10:45 a.m.
When police arrived, they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities said the victim was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital and remains in "serious condition."
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling the investigation; however, police said a person of interest was spotted entering a home in the 3600 block of West Broadway.
Police said LMPD's SWAT Team responded to the residence and were in a stand-off at the location.
Around 2 p.m., LMPD said the standoff has concluded with the suspect in custody and all parties involved in the incident accounted for.
Exact details about the shooting and standoff are unclear at this time, however officers found a second man inside the residence with a gunshot wound. Police believe the man was shot prior to police involvement.
The second victim is expected to survive their injuries.
Authorities said the 3600 block of West Broadway is being reopened in both directions.
