LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man pleaded guilty Wednesday to attempted murder and multiple other charges from two years ago.

A Jefferson County judge sentenced Anthony Delaney to a total of 23 years in prison.

On March 15, 2022, Delaney attacked a woman in her bedroom and stated he was going to kill her. He stabbed her in the neck and chest, and used a wire to strangle her.

On May 25, 2022, Delaney admitted to assaulting a correctional officer while incarcerated at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. Delaney said he intentionally punched him, scratched him on the neck and bit the officer on the hands. The officer sustained injuries that required medical treatment.
