Second man arrested in relation to murder of former Louisville high school basketball star

LMPD arrested Jeremiah Banks, 20, for the June 23, 2022 murder of Vincent Crutcher.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A second man has been arrested in connection to a homicide that happened almost two years ago

Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) arrested Jeremiah Banks, 20, for the June 23, 2022 murder of Vincent Crutcher in the 4000 block of Heatherview Road. That's near the Buechel neighborhood.

Police said officers were called to a report of a shooting around 4:30 a.m. When authorities arrived, they found Crutcher shot. He was transported to UofL Hospital where he died two days later. He was 34. 

Crutcher was a former basketball star at PRP High School in 2006. He was also a runner up for Mr. Basketball. 

Banks was charged with murder and robbery, and is currently booked at Metro Corrections. 

The first man who was arrested in relation to Crutcher's death was Charvontae Reed. He was charged with assault and burglary on June 26, 2022.
