FISHERS, Ind. — Police in Fishers arrested a man from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who is accused of stealing $90,000 worth of items from at least 12 Target stores across the country.

On Jan. 28, police were called to a report of a theft at Target, located at 11750 Commercial Drive. A spokesperson with Target's Asset Protection said the suspect had already left the store but was able to provide police with the suspect's description and vehicle he left in.

Within minutes, police stopped the suspect, later identified as Frank Covington, of Milwaukee.

Officers searched Covington and found a device in his pocket that is commonly used to disable anti-theft devices in stores. While searching Covington's rental car, police found the following items:

  • 23 Texas Instrument TI-84 Plus CE calculators
  • Two Texas Instrument TI-84 Plus calculators
  • One Texas Instrument TI-Nspire CX 2 calculator

Target's Asset Protection team said Covington is listed as a suspect in multiple Target thefts throughout the United States, with an estimated theft value of $90,000.

Covington had 10 active warrants from several states, with crimes ranging from burglary to theft and shoplifting.

The Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office charged Covington with three counts of theft.
