CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Greensburg man was arrested at 3:08 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the Indian Trail Trailer Park after a shooting behind a Kroger on Broadway in Campbellsville, Ky.
Steven Hewitt, 24, was wanted after a warrant for assault in the first was issued for him on Aug. 3. It related to a case where a woman was shot in the leg.
According to Kentucky State Police, they believe Hewitt was involved in a kidnapping that was reported to the Campbellsville Police Department on Thursday as well.
Efforts from the Campbellsville Police Department, Taylor County Sheriff’s Department and KSP lead to Hewitt’s arrest.
Non-lethal chemical munitions were introduced into the residence Hewitt was holding himself up in. It led to Hewitt and other occupants to exit the residence.
No one was injured when he was arrested.
The investigation is ongoing.
Hewitt is being held at the Taylor County Jail.
