LOUISVILLE, Ky.(WHAS 11)--The man accused of killing another man in a drunken crash is behind bars waiting for his day in court.
18-year-old Jose Gomez faces charges for murder, DUI and driving without a license, among others, after a three-car deadly crash on December 16.
That crash on Cooper Chapel Road claimed the life of 59-year-old Martin Showalter and injured one other person.
LMPD says Gomez admitted to drinking eight beers before he got behind the wheel that night.
Hospital toxicology results showed his blood alcohol was almost two-and-a-half times the legal limit.
