LMPD: Man dies after being hit by vehicle in Schnitzelburg area

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police is (LMPD)  investigating a deadly crash that happened on Oct. 16.

Police were called to the intersection of Clarks Lane and Preston Highway around 7:50 a.m. that Monday. The intersection is on the edge of the Schnitzelburg neighborhood, close to the St. Joseph and Parkway Village neighborhoods.

Investigators said a vehicle was traveling northbound when it entered the intersection on a green light, and that's when they said a man walked in front of the vehicle.

The driver stopped and remained at the scene police said.

Witnesses told authorities they had seen the man walking in and out of traffic. It is unclear why.

EMS transported the man to UofL Hospital that day, but he later died on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
