Man killed in hit-and-run incident in Louisville Sunday night

The incident happened about 10 p.m.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man was killed in a hit-and-run incident Sunday night in Louisville.

Louisville Metro police officers were called to the area of 9th and Kentucky streets shortly after 10 p.m. for a pedestrian struck. According to an LMPD news release, a preliminary investigation revealed a male "believed to be an adult" was in the northbound lanes of 9th when he was hit by a vehicle. 

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and drove away. It's unknown if the victim was attempting to cross at the intersection. 

He died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The victim's name has not been released.

No other vehicles were involved. LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.

There are no suspects in custody.
