LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A 20-year-old man was shot to death in southwest Louisville in the early morning hours of St. Patrick's Day.
Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) was dispatched on the report of a shooting in the 2800 block of De Mel Avenue around 12:45 a.m. Officers said they arrived on scene, but found no victim.
A short time later, LMPD said a man arrived by private means at UofL Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. The man died at the hospital from his injuries.
On Monday, the Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Darryl Malone.
LMPD's Homicide Unit is leading this investigation. There are currently no known suspects.
