LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is in the hospital after an incident happened at Derby City Gaming Thursday night.
Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) said officers were called to the 4500 block of Poplar Level Road just past 8:30 p.m. on reports of a fight.
When officers arrived, investigators said they found a man with a gunshot wound.
First responders transported the man to the hospital where he is expected to survive police said.
Tonya Abeln with Churchill Downs, Inc. confirmed to WHAS11 News that it happened outside Derby City Gaming in the parking lot and that their employees were not involved.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Squad is investigating.
