LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after a shooting Wednesday morning in the California neighborhood.
Louisville Metro police responded to a call for a "person down" in the 1000 block of Dixie Highway around 7 a.m., according to an LMPD news release.
Officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The man's identity has not yet been released.
According to LMPD spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders, the department is aware of social media posts claiming the victim was in a uniform and could potentially be a child, however he said those posts are "false."
LMPD is investigating the case. There are currently no known suspects.
