Man found shot and killed in Russell neighborhood

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating after a man was found dead Wednesday morning.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating after a man was found dead Wednesday morning in the Russell neighborhood.

At about 3:15 a.m., LMPD officers responded to a shooting near the intersection of South 26th Street and West Chestnut Street, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers found a man who had been shot. EMS responded and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating. There are currently no known suspects.
