LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot early Tuesday morning and found inside a liquor store in the Russell neighborhood.
At about 1:15 a.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a shooting at 26th and West Chestnut streets near 26th Street Liquors, according to an LMPD news release.
Officers on scene found a man inside the liquor store, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victim to UofL Hospital where authorities say he is expected to survive.
LMPD detectives are working to learn what led up to the shooting and what a possible motive could be.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling this investigation. There are currently no known suspects.
